Saturday, September 19th
Each year, the world pauses to observe the International Day of Peace — a global invitation to reflect, connect, and choose stillness over conflict. Here in the Florida Keys, Keys to Peace honors this day in the way we know best: by turning inward first.
We believe peace isn't something that happens somewhere else, decided by someone else. It starts here — in our breath, our relationships, our island community. Before peace can ripple outward, it has to be cultivated within. That's the heart of what this day means to us.
Keys to Peace is a nonprofit rooted in mindfulness, connection, and community healing. We are not affiliated with any political party, cause, or agenda. Our work is simple and personal: helping people find calm, presence, and compassion in their own lives, so that peace becomes something we practice — not just something we hope for.
This is a Free Community - Family event, all are invited, bring your well-behaved leashed pets as well!
Starting this year, every September, we will gather across the Upper Keys for a day of intention setting and community connection, including:
Sound Bath & Meditation — guided stillness to quiet the noise and reconnect with self
Community Gratitude Circle under the Tree of Peace — an open, judgment-free space to share reflections and intentions for peace, however each person defines it
Mindful Art & Mandala Making — creative expression as a path to inner calm
Full Moon Drum Circle — rhythm, breath, and community around the shared heartbeat of the drum
Whether you come to sit in silence, move to music, a drumbeat, or simply be present with your neighbors, this day is for anyone seeking a little more calm in their life. Peace in the Keys starts with peace within each of us.
